Hong Kong International School
HKIS (Hong Kong International School) is a private, American, college-preparatory international school located in Tai Tam and Repulse Bay, Hong Kong. Our baseball program has been in existence for 10 years. We compete annually in an international school China Cup tournament and an Asia Pacific Activities Conference tournament. HKIS Varsity Baseball team has an overall record of: 101 wins, 20 losses, 2 ties. Our boys are between the ages of 14-18 and a number have gone on to compete collegiately in the United States. We've added five post-high school adults who reside in Hong Kong to our team and look forward to participating in this second annual Hong Kong Open Baseball Tournament! |
National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sport
The baseball team has been established since the creation of National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sport (NTUPES), which has the history of over fifty years. The NTUPES principals have given wholehearted support to baseball team, who have attained great results thanks to dedications from coaches and teachers, producing many outstanding players for the country. Due to the improvements of teaching and training facilities, NTUPES becomes the first choice for high school prospects to enroll in. Currently many alumnus playing in the professional league. All the graduates stick to the school motto of “perfection in skills and virtue, desire for character and enterprise” enabling them to contribute what they learned in society. |
OCTMS, Shenzhen
OCTMS locates by the beautiful Shenzhen Bay and upholds the Shenzhen spirit of pioneering the country. Founded as the first middle school baseball team in throughout the Shenzhen City in 1999, the team made a series of excellent competition results under the strong support from both Nanshan Education Bureau and the school itself. The team won the championship in the Guangdong Provincial Games in 2010, 8 players from our team were selected for the national youth team in 2011 and won the 8th place in the 30th World Boys Baseball Tournament representing the country. During 2011 and 2013, the team ranked top 3 for 3 consecutive years in the National Baseball Championship. Being the traditional sport of the school, baseball is the highlight of the school’s education, loved by the students and influencing the whole basic education field throughout the Shenzhen City. |
Osaka All-Star Team, Japan
The Osaka All-Star Team consists of 25 players from 5 affiliate corporate teams of the Osaka Baseball Federation. There are 89 corporate teams and 269 club teams in Japan. There is a national championship for each of the categories and corporate teams from Osaka use to win high rankings in the championships every year. Not only aiming to accomplish good result in the tournament, we also wish to develop deep friendship with other participating teams. |
Singapore Cubs
Singapore Cubs is honored to be invited to participate in the Hong Kong International Baseball Open 2013. As our baseball community is small, our team comprises mostly of different high schools’ competitive softball players that have embraced baseball as their primary sport and are members in the national team. The formation of a national baseball team started shortly after the formal re-organizing of SBSA in 1998. Since then, our coaches and officials in baseball are volunteers who have a passion for this great game and are committed to developing our nation’s youth in this aspect. This is the team’s first trip to the vibrant city of Hong Kong and the players and coaches are looking forward to meeting the participating teams in this tournament and forging friendships both on and off the field. |
United States and Allies
United States and Allies (USA) are a collection of expatriate baseballers, based in Singapore but from the United States, Canada, South Korea, France, Switzerland and Australia. Having played together for a number of years, we are a close-knit and competitive team who will leave a lasting impression on the other tournament participants with our exploits both on and off the diamond. |
Vladivostok Tigers, Russia
Baseball team of Vladivostok Tigers was reestablished in 2011 as a successor of Russian (Soviet Union) famous team Ussuriisk (Timber) Tigers which was a bronze medalist of the USSR championship, a Cup of the USSR winner (1991), played in friendly tournaments in Japan and USA. Today it's a leading baseball team in the eastern part of Russia and the members of team are amateurs who trained in childhood and now are busy with developing of Russian baseball. |
Hong Kong Red Team
Members are mainly selected from the national team players who represented Hong Kong to participate in the international level’s tournaments, such as Asia Cup, National Games, Asian Games and East Asian Games. Taking this opportunity, the Team is able to meet teams from Iraq, Russia, Singapore and United States in addition to the regular competing countries/regions such as China, Japan and Taiwan. Further enhance the baseball skills and gain more experience to apply in the coming tournaments. Wish all success. |
Hong Kong Blue Team
To foster younger baseball players to meet national team level and able to compete with the teams in Asia and the world is one of our major tasks, Hong Kong Baseball Association organizes regular squad training and local league to local athletes to improve their baseball skills and enhance the sense of competition for the past few years. Our players come from different high schools and colleges, all of them started to play baseball since their age at seven or younger, they are our future. |
