Opening Ceremony

The IBAF Hong Kong International Baseball Open 2013 was formally held with the present of Mr. Laurence Lee, President of Hong Kong Baseball Association, Mr. Philip Li, Chairman of Hong Kong Baseball Association, Mr. Kelvin Leung, Chief Leisure Manager of Leisure and Cultural Services Department of HKSAR, Mr. Brian Chen, Deputy Director, Liaison Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office and Dr. Felix Yip, Chairperson of Organizing Committee of IBAF Hong Kong International Baseball Open 2013 and guests and baseball friends in Sai Tso Wan Baseball Pitch this morning. Eight participating teams from China, Japan, Russia, Singapore, USA and Hong Kong participated in the ceremony and enjoyed the lion dance performance and shared the joyful moment togather with the VIP guests. National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sport Baseball Team was unable to attend the opening cereomy and only arrived this afternoon and had its first game with Russia immediately after their arrival because of completing local competition in Taiwan just yesterday.



After finishing two days game, it is worthwhile to take note that all teams had demonstrated high level of dedication and sportsmanship in games. As of now, Japan and Hong Kong International School ranked first in group A and group B respectively. There will be fIve more games being scheduled tomorrow to determine the final ranking in the preliminary round for further competition in the final round of the Tournament on 23 December. It is expected that all these games shall provide great excitement to all players and audiences. Let us enjoy them together!
