President's Message
Mr. Laurence Lee
President of Hong Kong Baseball Association
It is an exciting time for Hong Kong as this is the first time for us to have an international men's baseball tournament held in our city.
I would like to personally welcome each of you coming to play the Hong Kong International Baseball Open 2012.
The Hong Kong Baseball Association has a five-year experience in organizing the “Phoenix Cup” Hong Kong international women's baseball tournament since 2008. Encouraged by the success of the women's event and received the support of you all, we organized this men's international open event to provide an occasion for baseball players from different parts of the world to play baseball and build up friendship.
I wish you an enjoyable game and a happy stay in Hong Kong.

Chairman's Message
Mr. Philip Li
Chairman of Hong Kong Baseball Association
I am bearing a delightful mind to welcome you all to the debut Hong Kong International Men's Open 2012.
The main objective of this Tournament is to further promote popularity of baseball to people round the globe. Higher popularity of baseball can help baseball return to the Olympic Games.
We learn that the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and International Softball Federation (ISF) have merged into a team to make a joint bid for reinstatement to the Olympic Games.
Being a member of IBAF, HKBA takes initiatives to do something for the Olympic bidding campaign. The annual “Phoenix Cup” Hong Kong International Women’s Baseball Tournament launched since 2008 and this Tournament are the two international events which I believe that can help the bidding.
Hence, whilst you enjoy playing this Tournament, you are also contributing your efforts to help baseball returning to the Olympic Games 2020.
Thank you.
Philip Li
Chairman of Hong Kong Baseball Association
